Known as finding a skip, skip tracing, locating persons, and other names.. Skip tracing is the process of locating a person’s whereabouts for any number of purposes. The term “skip” refers to the person being searched for, and is derived from the idiomatic expression “to skip town”, meaning to depart (perhaps in a rush), leaving minimal clues behind to “trace” the “skip” to a new location.

I have a high success rate of finding skips. It’s not 100%, but it’s close. One of the reasons is I don’t take every case. A good Private Investigator wouldn’t. There are reasons. Perhaps I know the person will never be found and don’t want to waste my clients money, and my time. Speaking of money, another reason is if the clients budget is unrealistic. This process can take days, weeks, or even months. Lots of resources and man time go into this service. It’s also not easy.

Another reason I have a high success rate is because I know how to do a thorough search for someone. Some people (Even some Private Investigators…) punch some name in google and assume the address is correct. Lots of times, that information is outdated and if the person doesn’t want to be found they will be moving around. Even public databases such as Intellius provide bad or old data. Private Investigators have access to databases not available to the public. But that’s not where we stop. Almost everyone leaves a paper trail. If they don’t, it’s time to question everyone they know. Friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, previous employers, etc. Finding assets. Vehicles, houses, PO Boxes, and other personal property. Going on the ground. This is what really sets us apart from the competition.

The more information you provide, the better off I am at finding your skip. If you give me just a first name and a city, imagine what I can or can’t do. Say you want to find James in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Don’t be surprised when there is 1,000 plus hits. If they have a unique first name, such as Iyana now we can limit the results. Either way, a first and last name, physical description, date of birth, SSN, photograph, are all useful information that can dramatically increase your chances.

The next time you need a skip located or any other investigative needs in Wisconsin or nationwide call Ryan Adam Investigations.
